Generalised Guide To Nutrient Deficiency Symptoms - Part 1

Element deficiencies where older leaves are affected first

Nitrogen Deficient (12K)

Phoshorus Deficient (15K)

Potassium Deficient (14K)
Plants much smaller than normal, leaves light green, lower leaves yellow, leaf senescence accelerated. Decreased plant size, plants dark green, often red or purple colours appearing, lower leaves yellow. Pale brown to black leaf scorch, preceded by irregular marginal or interveinal chlorosis, leaves cupped.

Magnesium Deficient (17K)

Molybdenum Deficient (24K)
Interveinal chlorosis, persistent green margin of leaf, yellow patches and brown necrotic areas. Appearance of brilliant orange, red or pruple tints Plants show bright yellow-green interveinal chlorotic mottling before leaf margins curl and witter. Symptoms are more intense when nitrate-N is applied. For brassicas development of the 'whiptail' syndrome and 'yellow spot' of citrus.
