Fertiliser Recommendations for Horticultural Crops
This publication is an updated version of the 1986 MAF New Zealand publication 'Fertiliser Recommendations for Horticultural Crops'.
Where no new information is available on a particular crop, the material is unchanged. The names of the specialist scientists that have updated material are given under the relevant crop heading.
Preparation of the 1986 Bulletin Fertiliser Recommendations
The initial bulletin was written by scientific and advisory staff in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in response to the need for a comprehensive treatise on the nutrient requirements of horticultural crops in New Zealand. The Ministry acknowledged the assistance of scientists and advisors from other organisations in providing information and acting on an Advisory Committee. The Committee was set up to advise on the format of the bulletin and technical contents.

Revision of the Bulletin
While the material in the bulletin is as complete and up to date as possible, little information is available on many crops, so sections will be revised as new information becomes available.
