Kiwifruit Winter Chilling 2009
TE PUKE - Many deciduous crops require some chilling in the winter to produce reasonable flower numbers in the spring. There are many methods of calculating winter chilling, the method used here (number of hours below 7°C) is commonly used by a wide range of fruit growers throughout the world.

The graphs below enable growers to compare the amount of winter chilling received this year compared to previous years. The graphs will be updated fortnightly during July and August.
