Insects with One Pair of Wings

All true flies and the males of some other insects have one pair of wings. Those shown are the species of most significance in orchards. A wide variety of fruit flies occur overseas and it is vital that they are not introduced to New Zealand. Other detritus-feeding flies are also seen in orchards.
