Black cherry aphids, Myzus cerasi, on a cherry leaf and shoot tip

Feeding by dense colonies of cherry aphids produces masses of honeydew, and can distort and discolour the shoot tips (right) of cherry trees. Cast skins of the aphids often accumulate in the colony (right).
