| California red scale female and young settled stages |
|---|
California red scale is primarily a pest of citrus (pictures). It may occur on the fruits of stonefruits grown alongside or near to citrus orchards. The horizontal arrow points to a mature female scale and the vertical arrow to an immature male. Young male scales become more elongated (less round) than females as they develop.
