These are the pupal stages of flies which parasitises leafroller caterpillars/pupae. The puparium is found in the leafroll made by the leafroller caterpillar (left). The remains of the caterpillar can be seen in the left picture, while on the right, the puparium protrudes from the leafroller pupa (right, above) compared to a healthy leafroller pupa below. The puparium of Pales feredayi has a similar appearance.
