go back Pupal cocoons of the leafroller parasitoid, Glyptapanteles demeter

Glyptapanteles demeter is parasitic wasp (family Braconidae) which attacks leafroller caterpillars. Several wasps are produced from a single caterpillar. The remains of the leafroller caterpillars can be seen in both pictures, and on the left, a small maggot-like wasp larva is visible which has yet to spin a cocoon.
