Mussel scale - Life cycle in southern New Zealand

This chart describes the life cycle of mussel scale for southern New Zealand. A partial second generation may occur in warmer North Island localities. The timing of the different stages may also be more advanced in the North Island and in very warm seasons, and may be delayed in the south in a cool spring and/or summer.
