Eryngiopus nr. nelsonensis, a stigmaeid (probable) predator of oystershell scale

This mite has been found in oystershell scale colonies in Otago. The stigmaeids are predatory and it is probable that this mite feeds on oystershell scale. A shrivelled male scale (pupa) is in the foreground of the righthand picture.
