| Haplothrips kurdjumovi - a thrips predator of European red mite |
|---|
Haplothrips kurdjumovi is well known in North America under the name H. faurei as predator of mites and small insects. In New Zealand, it is recorded as a predator of European red mite and twospotted spider mite. It is frequently found in pipfruit orchards in Central Otago, particularly those using integrated or organic fruit production methods. Both the adult and larval stages are predatory.
