Oystershell scale - Fecundity

Oystershell scale females give birth to large numbers of eggs over a period of 2-3 months. The fecundity (total egg production) has not been estimated in New Zealand. Three estimates of fecundity have been found in the literature:

Germany (1952)   72-203 eggs per female
United Kingdom (1984)   up to 100 eggs per female
Europe (1990)   about 110 eggs per female
