| Oystershell scale - Fecundity |
|---|
Oystershell scale females give birth to large numbers of eggs over a period of 2-3 months. The fecundity (total egg production) has not been estimated in New Zealand. Three estimates of fecundity have been found in the literature:
| Germany (1952) | 72-203 eggs per female | |
| United Kingdom (1984) | up to 100 eggs per female | |
| Europe (1990) | about 110 eggs per female | |
