Leafroller pheromone trap

Moths are attracted to the trap by brownheaded leafroller pheromone which is slowly released from the rubber cap. This can be seen in the centre of the removable sticky base. Pheromone caps last six weeks in the field, and the bases three weeks, unless heavy insect catches or dust reduces their effectiveness even sooner. The traps should be hung at a height of 1.2-1.8 m.

Coloured traps (red, green) are now used in preference to white traps which attract and trap bees.
