Pearslug is the larva of a small wasp. It feeds on the leaves of pears (including nashi), cherries, plums, and various other rosaceous plants such as rowans and whitebeam. Eggs of pearslug are occasionally seen on apple leaves but damage has not been reported. The damage to most of its hosts, including pear, is characterised by leaf windows.
