Fruit distortion obtained by caging Sejanus albisignata on young fruit clusters

It is not known if Sejanus albisignata damages fruit in commercial orchards. The damage shown here was obtained by caging adult S. albisignata on young fruit clusters. Damage is unlikely in southern regions such as Otago, unless young stages of the bug can damage the fruit, because first adult S. albisignata do not appear until late November.
