Brownheaded leafroller adults

The two species of brownheaded leafroller cannot be distinguished by their appearance. Colour and markings are highly variable, particularly in the male. The female has characteristic dark marks half-way down the forewings. The male also has these marks, and often a dark band across the back when at rest, about one third of the way down the body.
