Lightbrown apple moth young caterpillars

The caterpillars of lightbrown apple moth often show three distinct darker bands running the length of the body. Greenheaded and brownheaded leafrollers are named after the colours of the heads of the fully developed caterpillars. However, these features are of limited assistance and cannot be used reliably to distinguish between the species.
