| Stigmaeid mite eggs |
|---|
Stigmaeid mites lay tiny spherical yellow eggs. There are at least two species, Agistemus longisetus and Zetzellia sp. Eggs sometimes occur in groups, particularly when laid amongst colonies of their prey. This may be on the leaves or at the calyx of apples. The eggs in these pictures (Zetzellia ?subreticulata) were laid close to the midribs of the leaves.
